COACH RECOGNITION | MICK ISLES – SOUTHSIDE U13s

We are proud to recognise Mick Isles for his outstanding contribution to junior football and the Southside Junior Football Club.
Mick has been involved with Southside for the past 10 years, coaching across various age groups and making a significant impact on countless young players along the way.
Currently coaching the Southside U13s, Mick’s focus has always been on player growth, development and enjoyment of the game rather than simply the final result on the scoreboard. He has an incredible relationship with his players and consistently creates a positive environment built on encouragement, confidence and respect.
Mick is proactive in providing positive reinforcement and has the ability to communicate with his players in a confident, respectful and engaging manner. He treats every player with the same level of respect and support, helping them develop both as footballers and as young people.
What makes Mick’s contribution even more remarkable is that he has no children currently playing in the junior system. His involvement is entirely voluntary and driven by his genuine passion for junior football and giving back to the club.
Mick is also a wonderful role model on game day. He consistently demonstrates respect towards umpires, parents, opposition teams and everyone involved in the game, always representing Southside in a positive manner.
No matter what is asked of him, Mick is always willing to step up. He is happy to coach whichever age group the club requires and is someone who can be relied upon week after week, never missing a training session or game.
Beyond coaching his own team, Mick is also helping develop the next generation of coaches by involving senior players as assistant coaches, giving them the opportunity to learn, grow and develop their own understanding of junior football.
Mick Isles is everything junior football needs in a coach — committed, selfless, respectful, passionate and completely focused on helping young players become the best they can be.
